Spring is in the Air

While this cake hardly has any fondant, and is mostly buttercream (something I am VERY familiar with) I still really liked it when it was done. We had a teenage girl come in who wanted to order a cake for either later that day, or the next day, for her mom's birthday. That isn't something that we normally do, but we had an extra cake baked for an order that was cancelled, so I ended up staying at work a little later than usual to do this one for her.

We have some pompom things hanging from the ceiling at the bakery in these colors, and they liked them so what I knew was they wanted those colors and flowers. Since I was pressed for time I did the rose design which is pretty quick and simple. I think it's a 4d tip? But I could be remembering wrong, that I used, spiraling around with each color to create a quick rose. Then I sprinkled the cake with edible glitter, cut out a few banners that I piped writing onto (my handwriting is SO much better when I write with a frosting bag than when I'm writing with a pen, funny how that works) and took some fondant butterflies that were left from another order and scattered them around. It ended up being a super fast, fun cake that both mom and daughter were happy with.
